When is Ghost Town open and what are the hours of operation? 

Ghost Town in the Sky opens on Friday, May 2nd and closes on Sunday, November 2nd.  As our schedule varies, please view our Operating Calendar for specific operating dates and hours.

 

Where can I stay in the area when visiting your park?

Ghost Town does not make recommendations on lodging.  However, a list of our Preferred Lodging Partners is available.  All of these facilities sell discounted tickets to the park.  For more information on other lodging or area information, please reference the websites that are listed below:

How do I get to Ghost Town?

Ghost Town in the Sky is located in beautiful Maggie Valley, North Carolina.  Please see our Driving Directions page for a map of the area.

 

What is the weather like there?

Our beautiful Smoky Mountain weather can be very unpredictable. You should obtain an up-to-the-minute weather report prior to visiting us.  Current area conditions can be found on our Weather page.

 

Do you offer rain checks?

If it is raining when you leave the park and your visit is shortened by the rain, you can request a rain check.  Rain Checks are distributed at the Ticket Office at the bottom of the mountain and are valid until the end of the season.  Rain Checks are not available for Season Passholders.

 

Are there designated areas where I can change diapers or nurse my baby?

Diaper changing stations are located in various bathrooms throughout the park.  Nursing stations can be found at the Park Safety office on the Heritage Level and in the Town Hall located just outside of Ghost Town proper.

 

Are pets allowed in the park?

Unfortunately, we only allow service animals for Guests with disabilities in to the park.

 

Are there clothing guidelines at Ghost Town?

Ghost Town in the Sky wishes to preserve its family friendly atmosphere.  For this reason, proper clothing is required including shirts and shoes (sandals and flip-flops are acceptable).  Profanity, distasteful or suggestive material on clothing is prohibited.  Ghost Town reserves the right to refuse admission to anyone not properly attired.

 

Do you have First Aid Stations?

Ghost Town has two First Aid / Park Safety Offices.  On the Heritage level, the office is across from Chairlift Photo.  Our other office is located in the Town Hall just outside of Ghost Town proper.

 

Do you have a smoking policy?

Yes, we do ask that smokers utilize designated smoking areas indicated on the Park Map.  Smoking is strictly forbidden on all rides, including the Chairlift, all rides, queue lines, indoor theaters, attractions, shops and restaurants.

 

Are weapons or alcohol allowed?

Weapons and alcoholic beverages are not permitted on Ghost Town property.

 

What if I lose something while I am at Ghost Town?

Our Lost and Found is located at Town Hall just outside of Ghost Town proper.  Also, during the season, feel free to contact Lost and Found at 828.926.1140 extension 317.

 

Where can I get a map of the park?

Maps are available at the Ticket Office and at Town Hall.  A Park Map is also available here online.

 

Do I have to pay to park?

No.  Parking for Ghost Town is free.

 

Do you have picnic areas available if we bring our own food?

We do have picnic tables throughout the park for your eating enjoyment.  However, after careful consideration of national park policies and consultation with health experts, we are unable to allow coolers, food or drinks in the park.  However, if you would like to eat elsewhere or must leave for any reason during the day, remember to get your hand stamped so you can return later the same day.

 

Do you have strollers for rent?

We have a limited number of single strollers available for rent on a first-come first-served basis. Single strollers are $9 per day. We do not have double strollers. Discounts on stroller rentals are available for Season Passholders.

 

What are the height/safety requirements for the rides?

Can I leave the park and then come back?

Yes.  Simply have your hand stamped at the Ticket Office.  Keep your ticket so it can be scanned when you return.

 

Do the shows cost extra?

All standard daily shows are free of charge with paid admission.  Special ticketed events may have an extra charge.  Please see our Special Events page for further details.

 

Where do I get an Entertainment Schedule?

A schedule of all park entertainment will be provided by the Ticket Office upon entry.  Town Hall can also provide you with a schedule and description of all shows.

 

Do you have a military discount?

Yes.  During times of war, Ghost Town is pleased to offer a $3.00 discount on one-day admission tickets for active or retired military and military reservists, spouses and dependents when valid military personnel IDs and dependent IDs are presented.  Unfortunately, this offer cannot be made available to other family members and friends. 

 

If I buy a one-day ticket, can I upgrade to a season pass?

Absolutely.  Season Passes are always your best value.  You can apply your one-day admission toward the price of a season pass.  This transaction must be made at the Ticket Office on the day of your visit before leaving the park.

 

Do you offer group rates?

Yes, we offer group rates for groups of 20 or more.  Our group reservation number is 828.926.1140 x 336.  Please see our Group Information section for more information.

 

Do you have ATM machines in the park?

ATM machines are located in our Front Station Welcome Center at the bottom of the mountain, in our Emporium on the Heritage level and in the Bank in Ghost Town proper.

 

Do you have disability parking?

Yes.  Please make sure that you disability license tag or hang tag is clearly visible.

 

Do you have wheelchairs for rent?

A limited number of wheelchairs and Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECVs) are available for rent. (Guest must be 16 or older with a valid driver’s license to rent an ECV.)  We cannot take reservations; they are rented on a first-come, first-serve basis and cannot be carried over to the next day with the 'After 3:00pm Next Day Free Ticket'.  Wheelchairs are available for $9.00 per day. ECV's are available for $33.00 per day. Credit card or cash deposit is required for all ECV rentals.  Discounts are available on wheelchair and ECV rentals for Season Pass holders.

 

Are all areas wheelchair accessible?

The park is located on a very unique, hilly, spread out property with paved and graveled areas.  For this reason, there are portions of the park that may be difficult for some to access.
