Cowboy Vest
Supplies Needed:
Large Paper Grocery Bag
Scissors
Construction Paper
Glue Stick
- Cut the bottom off the paper bag.
- Cut straight down the middle to form the front of the vest, and then cut out a place for the neck and arms.
- Cut slips along the bottom front to create fringe.
- Use construction paper to cut out buttons, pockets, and a star (badge).
- Glue construction pieces on vest.
- Personalize by writing your name on the badge.
Cowboy Hat
Supplies Needed:
Cowboy Hat Pattern (click here for pattern)
Construction Paper
Poster Board
Scissors
Stapler (may want to get help from an adult)
Glue Stick
- Use cowboy hat pattern and trace 2 hats onto construction paper.
- Cut out hats.
- Using construction paper cut out 1 star and 2 thin black strips by measuring the width of hat.
- Glue each strip to each hat cut out.
- Glue star over strip of one hat.
- Cut headband out of poster board and staple ends together.
- Glue each hat to the headband on opposite sides.
- Glue tops of hats together.
Cowboy Puppet
Supplies Needed:
Bandana Pattern (click here for pattern) and Hat Pattern (click here for pattern)
Small Paper Lunch Bag
Construction Paper
Crayons
Glue Stick
Scissors
- Use bandana pattern and trace onto construction paper.
- Cut out bandana and glue onto paper bag. Be sure to glue bandana partially under the flap of the bag.
- Use construction paper to cut out pants, vest, shoes, hat, and other accessories and features for your cowboy/cowgirl. You may form a face on the bottom of the paper bag by either drawing with crayons or cutting shapes out of construction paper.
- Glue on remaining pieces to personalize your puppet.
